Helpful Tips Before Camping
All campers need a permit from County or State offices. Permits are limited, so it’s recommended to secure yours at least 90 days in advance. Remote areas that require crossing streams may be subject to bad weather conditions. If your vacation includes extended camping time, consider some alternatives if your site is closed due to the weather. Camping in vehicles on public land is illegal on Kauai. Camping on private property without the owner’s permission could lead to arrest and fines.
