Nature Trail
The Nature Trail is a fun and accessible way to experience the beauty of Kōkeʻe’s forests, making it a great option for a meaningful adventure.
Beauty Along The Trail
A fun and easy way to explore a native mountain forest. It is an easy hike for families, including even the youngest. It loops through the forest above the meadow on a gradual incline and declines back to the museum. Information on Laka and the native plants are on the storyboard next to the museum and trailhead. The museum carries many books to further your understanding of this unique ecosystem represented in our forest.
Trail Overview
Location: Starts behind the Kōkeʻe Natural History Museum
Length: Approximately a 900 ft. loop
Duration: Around 15 minutes
Caution: Like any trail on Kaua‘i, you may find challenges presented by roots, fallen tree limbs, and an occasional fallen tree. You can always walk back the way you came. The walk is the experience, not the destination.
