To enhance pre- or post- visits, we have some activity sheets, a guide to the Nature Trail and links to some very cool kid’s activities and conservation resources for teachers.
Kōke’e Museum is a Fun Stop for Kids
Kōke’e Natural History Museum has delighted keiki for generations. The museum itself is often the first museum any child on Kaua‘i visits with their family. The perennial favorite exhibits are the taxidermy of introduced game animals, a bug collection, the only native land mammal, nearly extinct endemic forest birds and a konane (Hawaiian Checkers-like game) board made from an ‘ohi’a (native tree) stump and rustic chairs. Don’t forget to bring some change to use the penny machine. Of course, there are chickens outside the museum to chase and the Meadow to run around in.
Our gift shop carries family games, a curated selection of books and activities related to our special place for adults and keiki to purchase. A selection of State Park and locally produced souvenirs are tangible reminders of your park visit.
